I didn’t think I could love a Beyonce album more than her 2013 self-titled one, and then Lemonade happened. It’s the only album in the past few years that I’ve bothered to purchase, that’s how much I love it. I can’t even pick a favourite track because it changes daily. It’s been a while since an album has felt so important; it’s a timely exploration of feminism, black lives in America, but also of forgiveness and growth. If I could have something playing in the background of my life, it would be the “Formation” music video, on repeat, 24 hours a day. Nobody deserves a “SLAY QUEEN!” more than Queen B.
