Beyoncé succeeds in creating a cohesive narrative detailing the struggles of being black, being a women, as well as the struggles created by their intersection. Topics include healing from a hurtful relationship, as well as owning her race and rising above the racism she has experienced. Definitely a must to listen to.

This is Beyonce's most complete and fully-realized artistic statement. Instant classic.

"Okay, ladies, now let's get in formation, 'cause I slay."
When life gives you lemons, make one of the best albums of 2016. Beyonce doesn't need Grammys to know that she owns Adele (no offense). Beyonce's always made great music, but I think "Lemonade," front to back, is her best, most cohesive album. Like major releases by Frank Ocean and Kanye last year, "Lemonade" also redefines the album, as there's a "visual album" component (Included as a DVD in this set.). It's more than an afterthought and plays as a kind of film, full of striking visuals, cool settings, and great dancing. "Formation" was maybe my favorite song of 2016. Guests include Kendrick Lamar, Jack White, and The Weeknd.

Hot off the press:

Nominated for Record, Album, Song, Video of the year and more.

The DVD film is exceptional as others have commented. My only reservation is on the explicit language in some of the songs.

I didn’t think I could love a Beyonce album more than her 2013 self-titled one, and then Lemonade happened. It’s the only album in the past few years that I’ve bothered to purchase, that’s how much I love it. I can’t even pick a favourite track because it changes daily. It’s been a while since an album has felt so important; it’s a timely exploration of feminism, black lives in America, but also of forgiveness and growth. If I could have something playing in the background of my life, it would be the “Formation” music video, on repeat, 24 hours a day. Nobody deserves a “SLAY QUEEN!” more than Queen B.

As soon as it's due back, I return it, and put it on hold again. So good. Worth buying.

I really just checked this out to see the DVD but this album is really good! Youre going to hear "Hold up" and a few others more in the future.

Lemonade has to be one of the best albums in the past couple of years. If you have the chance to, the visual album is great to watch. The variety of genres in the album display Beyoncé’s vocal abilities beautifully. Each song is catchy, and good on it’s own. This album is an experience just listening to it. The emotions put into each song are contagious. The songs all fit together to create a story of self discovery, and healing from infidelity. It even tackles some social issues as well. This album is one of her best, and if we get more music from her in the future it would be interesting to see what she does next.

Where do I begin!? Beyonce truly changed the game with this album. The visuals and music videos were so raw and well produced at every step of the way that they alone are worth 100 awards! This album shows you a side of Bey that you have never seen or heard before as she opens up about her husband's affair and how she dealt. She calls out his mistress, talks about the pain she felt, and how she found confidence again. Every song, every lyric, is a work of art. ‘Hold Up’, ‘Sandcastles’, ‘Formation’, and ‘Sorry’ are among the best. So amazing!! Rating: 5/5
