Bones is leading a normal life like any other 10-year-old. She has a smart father named Nolay, that knows about everything. Then there is her Mama, or Honey Girl, who loves and cares for her like any other mother. The year 1949 is ending and Little Man and Bones have fun. Then one day two Yankees show up and Nolay scares them off. Then a few days later, one of the Yankees are reported dead. Another few days later his neighbour died in mystery. Bones was okay with all of this except when it came down to the prime suspect: Nolay. Bones thinks Leroy is slow as pond water and takes matters into her own hands. Her father goes to jail and its up to them to get him back out and prove it wasn't him.

Add a CommentAMAZING book!! It kept me guessing till the end. It was kind of confusing at the end of some chapters, because whatever they said, it did not happen..... But its a very great book!!
Ten-year-old Precious Bones (nicknamed by her grandmother) lives in the Florida swamps with her beloved Mama and father, Nolay. It is summer 1949 and Bones and her best friend Little Man have the run of the swamps to, fish, explore and play. When two murders threaten to implicate Nolay, Bones takes matters into her own hands, rather than wait for slow-poke Sheriff LeRoy to solve the mysteries. Full of quirky characters, beautiful descriptions of a lost way of life and many life lessons, Precious Bones is filled with adventure and mystery, narrated by Bones in a sweet, authentic voice sure to appeal to ages 9-12.
