Emmet Fisk and Gus Mathis were minding their own business when Dusty Barron made a break from killing a man in the saloon and the two men were blocking his escape route.
"McQueen of the Tumbling K" tells the story of Wade McQueen, foreman of the Tumbling K ranch, who finds evidence of a fight on ranch land. At the ranch house, he meets a man called Jim Yount, who looks like a gambler but claims to be a cattle buyer. Now Yount - or one of his gunman - has shot McQueen. But they should have made sure he was dead before riding away.
Ruthless rancher King Bill Hale needs to get rid of the local nesters in order to graze his cattle in the high country, and his first victim is Dick Moffitt. But Moffitt's children saw it all and have turned to a man called Trent for protection. They don't know he's a gunfighter trying to hide from his reputation.
