I always enjoy a Joe Pickett mystery when Nate Romanowski is not part of the narrative. I read this series for Joe's story, not Nate's. This edition to the series is certainly a page turner with everything from dishonest federal…

Wyoming park ranger Joe Pickett is the hero of this series that reads like a legal/cop mystery. If you like Longmire, you will love this book. It's part honorable lawman, part unpredictable wilderness. --Jami

"Breaking Point" by C.J. Box was a pretty good thriller and adventure story but not such a great mystery. Game Warden Joe Pickett is the sleuth but he doesn't really do much sleuthing. In the story, an aquitance of Pickett's is being…

Another fine work by this author. I'm on my last Joe Pickett novel... I'll be anxiously waiting for Box to finish the next one.

As if this wasn't one of the very best books I've read in a long time - break neck pacing, non-stop action throughout & a very realistic story line - I finish the book on the edge of my seat, read the first line of the "about the author"…

Excellent! I am used to reading mysteries located in urban areas where the protagonist is a cop or private eye, so it was refreshing to read about a game warden working in the forests and mountains of Wyoming. There were many twists and…

The whole Joe Pickett series is excellent, though this book is a bit extreme. As usual, the plot is great and the pace is fast. This book is hard to put down.

Terrific writing about forest fire experience. Wyoming environment is unforgiving but I enjoy reading about it as long as I don't have to live there ! Like Joe Pickett's character and the author's development of Joe through his…

I've only read one other Joe Pickett book, but have enjoyed their suspense. I can't wait to see what Joe's next job will be. I hope it will have other true to life topics as this one did with the EPA.

Joe Pickett and the host of characters surrounding him is enjoyable reading. I could actually feel the heat of the forest fire closing in on Joe and the others. C.J. Box is one hell of a story writer and I am lucky to have discovered…
