Just as an enjoyable read as his first book, "Best Laid Plans", which won a Stephen Leacock Award for humour. Same characters, same wit, similar funny situations, another election to be won, same satire about federal politics. This book…

Terry Fallis doesn't disappoint by weaving another wonderful tale so familiar to anyone aware of the folly and happenstance behind the scenes in federal politics.

I re-read this book after many years and have appreciated it more on the second reading. The humour stands up well and the reader is still touched by the sorrow Angus is suffering at the recent loss of his wife while he takes on the system…

The follow up to Best Laid Plans is just as fun. Angus McClintock has brought down the government and won an unexpected election as a Liberal candidate in a historically Conservative riding. Now that another election looms, will he run…

Another great read by Terry Fallis. A fun filled follow up to The Best Laid Plans. Again written with literary genius. Very laughable, great character development, and a fast moving plot. It is quite interesting how this writer packs…

I have enjoyed this author's other works. He is an entertaining writer with a good sense of humour and a sure feel for Canadian politics. I found this work not as enjoyable as "The Best Laid Plans" or "Up and Down". The entire plot centres…

I enjoyed this book as much as the previous 'The Best Laid Plans' where we first met Angus and Daniel. Angus is still his honest, forthright, upright, ethical self and Daniel the assistant hustling to keep up and to do the right thing. …

Lots of laughing out loud with this book. I wish Terry Fallis would write more Angus McLintock books but I have a feeling he's done with this character :(

Loved the further adventures of Angus McLintock, but it is Daniel Addison who makes me laugh out loud!

Another thigh-slapping tale of good triumphing over bad on The Hill in Ottawa. This book offers many discussion topics for a "book club" in a high school such as the role of women, alcoholism, and ageism. However, Fallis needs to rise…

Terry Fallis' The High Road ridicules the ridiculous: the way in which partisan politics undermines democratic and sensible actions. Many readers apparently find it amusing, perhaps because the prose is clever and the reality of Canadian…

Starts off good, liked previous one, but then it faded on me. Maybe not worth two books?

I laughed out loud more times than I could count. The MP from Cumberland-Prescott is a wonderfully rich character and his sidekicks are full of high jinks and slapstick comic relief. The continuing diary entries at the ends of chapter …

Another enjoyable adventure into the life of an honest politician, and how he comes to loggerheads with the party and other interesting individuals. I hope we will be seeing more in this series.
