Cage is on fire. A must see. Herzog is highly original as a director. Kilmer is a patient sidekick to Cage’s outrageous jazz stylings.

This is a wild one. An unhinged Nicolas Cage plays a corrupt and abusive cop catapulting off the deep end.

Nicolas Cage AND Werner Herzog! Ebert gave it 4 out of 4. He gets it. I give it 5 of 5. If this doesn't appeal to you, try "Up".

Just watch Abel Ferrera's 1992 film "Bad Lieutenant" and save yourself from this mess. Not technically bad, but they should have went with another title. "Port of Call" is completely unrelated to the neo noir gritty New York crime…

Not a big fan of Cage but he did a decent job acting his part in this movie. Movie was all right at least we finished it. I can understand why it got a lot of low ratings.

One of the world's greatest living directors paired with one of Holly'wood's most infamous oddballs? The result is as strange and surreal as the description makes you think it ought to be. The result is a movie that always seems in danger…

This movie was a disappointment. I actually rented it for Eva Mendes and she was barely in it and when she was her character was kind of annoying. Besides that, the movie was lame and quickly became pretty unrealistic when it came to…

This movie is garbage. In the first 25 minutes the movie lost all credibility. I watched for another 30 minutes and then couldn’t take it anymore. Not a huge fan of Nicholas Cage, but he has made some decent movies in the past and this…

The old tax dodger was OK here, his concubine believable and it looked like New Orleans was the den of iniquity that Katrina embellished it to be even more than it had been

It was O.K for a home TV movie. I was entertained and interesting. But it was NOT worth the long library wait or the price to rent from a Red Box. "I fast forwarded a lot but not all the way.

Better than I expected! Solid script, and Cage played it perfectly. More grit than slick. It delivers.

I don't like Cage much. He has done a lot of bad movies. However, this is a great performance by him. He plays the part to a tee, and the movie is well written and extremely gritty. Graphic situations abound. You wonder through the movie…

Hollywood voodoos desperatly trying to cash in from Hurricane Katrina, making voodoowood practically sadistic phycho-mockery, wasted time, energy & investment. Even for Halloween, this trash want make it.

some of this stuff amazes me and I question my doubts in believing some of it. humans are often put above the level of recognition they deserve, and dope supercedes most all primal instincts except survival so to see this guy is odd and…

Although this was being promoted as a remake of Bad Lieutenant, during its early production, director Werner Herzog claims that this is not a remake. He says he has never seen the original and therefore does not consider this movie a…

If you really want the Bad Lieutenant see the original with Harvey Keitel. Better movie, worse cop.

Fair - The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans (2009) 122 min. The only redeeming quality of this film, which is also its fall, is Nicholas Cage’s performance as a cop, whose not very likeable, to say the least. As an actor, Cage…

This movie puts Nick Cage on a strange emotional rollercoaster ride, ranging from violent sadism to trite middle-American family values. Still worth watching once for its 2 or 3 memorably funny moments, all dramatizing tricks played by…

So so weird but great. Nicholas Cage is bizarre and so fun to watch. Pay special attention to his bizarre accent change 2/3 of the movie through. I was riveted by this film. Just a blast to watch.
